Fertility Reflexology

Many couples experiencing difficulty in conceiving have found Reflexology very beneficial in helping them achieve pregnancy.
Fertility Reflexology is a gentle holistic therapy that can help ensure your mind and body is in the best possible condition prior to conception. The therapy's calming and relaxing effects can help to ease the tension and anxiety that you may feel when things do not go according to plan.
The term sub-fertility or infertility is used if conception has not occurred naturally after 12 months of trying for a baby. Medical tests may have shown that there is nothing wrong with either you or your partner (unexplained infertility) or you may even already have a child (secondary infertility). The ability to conceive depends on many different factors, but it is essential that both partners are in optimum health to enable this to happen. Therefore, it is advised that both the mother-to-be and her partner are treated with Reflexology.
Fertility issues arise for all sorts of reasons, the most common being due to diet, weight, stress or medical reasons.
Whatever the reason, Reflexology gently works on all the bodily systems to bring it back into optimum health, which in turn enhances fertility.
Reflexology can help couples with fertility problems by promoting blood circulation around the body, strengthening the immune system and promoting good strong health and vitality in the reproductive organs, which includes helping increase sperm quality and quantity.
The hormone balancing effects of reflexology can encourage regular periods, promote ovulation, ease symptoms of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and Endometriosis, and reduce PMS.
In many cases the anxiety over fertility can become all encompassing, which in itself can be detrimental and may affect your ability to conceive
Fertility Reflexology has a calming and grounding effect on the mind and body that can help you cope at this time. Often, the longer you are trying to conceive, the greater the stress and a vicious cycle can be triggered. Reflexology will help reduce this stress which in-turn leads to improvements in overall health.
What is a typical treatment plan for fertility problems?
Fertility reflexology treatments need to be carried out at different times during your menstrual cycle.
The frequency of the treatments will depend on the conditions presented by the client and the way the client responds to the treatments. The core treatment plan will be refined to match the individual needs of the client.
Regular treatments, recommended a few months prior to assisted and natural conception, clear the body of toxins, reduce stress, balance reproductive hormones and stimulate the production of healthy sperm.
Reflexology and a healthy lifestyle, including nutrition and exercise, bring about optimum health, creating the ideal environment for conception and early fetal development.
Note: If you are receiving fertility treatment, like IVF, you will not be able to have reflexology while you are actually taking any fertility drugs. This is because it will encourage your body to behave naturally and produce just one egg - the opposite of the effect that fertility drugs try to achieve.
